Copán
Copan - Near to the Guatemalan border, the archeological site of Copán is one of the rare Maya sites of Honduras. It constitutes one of the major cities of the Maya region by the richness of its monuments, in particular by its many very decorated stelae. Rival of Quirigua, to about fifty kilometres to the north, Copán knew its apogee between 5th and IXth century of our era. |
