The men live in Brantôme since the Prehistory, living in underground cave of the cliff. In the Middle Ages, a Benedictine abbey is founded, the prosperous city, becomes a stage for the pilgrims on tnhe way toward Compostela. In part destroyed by the French-English wars, the religious buildings are rebuilt at the Renaissance.
