Qianmen Gate


The Qianmen gate is made up of two turrets on floor and was rebuilt in 1900 following a fire. This gate formerly symbolized the border between the Tartar city of north and the Chinese city of the south. The gate of the front was permanently closed, except twice per annum, at the time of the passage of the son of the Sky.
